Zdzisław Beksiński (1929 - 2005)

i felt like putting up a journal, so i decided i make one about an artist i recently discovered, and like alot

dont know if anyone really cares, though ...




Zdzisław Beksiński was a painter born 24th February 1929 at Sanok, Poland.

He was famous for his fantastic/surrealistic paintings filled with death, decay, skeletons, deserts and/or disorted figures, all painted in a post-apocalytical enviroment.

Although his paintings are very dark, he was known to be a very nice, shy and optimistical person with a good sense of humour.

He was found dead on 22nd February in his apartment, with 17 stabwounds to his body. The teenage son of his caretaker admitted the murder. It is known that Beksiński had refused a loan to the young man.
